We Interviewed Florida hard rock outfit, Rain City Drive on their September 6th release "Concrete Closure"

"Concrete Closure" is a powerful soundtrack filled with emotion, melody, and upbeat hard rock. In the song, Rain City Drive navigates the act of seeking closure at the end of a relationship. "Concrete Closure" is the band's final song release before their approaching album "Things Are Different Now" out September 27th.

Vocalist Matt McAndrew – who was a finalist on Season 7 of the popular TV show, The Voice, had this to say about the meaning behind the band's new single:

"Concrete Closure aims to capture the frustration of ending a relationship with someone who, under the pretense of seeking closure, is merely trying to prolong the breakup and find a way back into your life. Even when it’s clear that the chapter needs to be closed for good.”

Forming in 2020, Rain City Drive is a 5-piece alt-rock outfit out of Florida. They are constantly pushing their musical boundaries, with post-hardcore origins that have evolved to include the sounds of pop-influenced rock and alternative rock.

The Palm Coast quintet is most known for their tracks, "Talk to a Friend", "Heavier", and the 2024 single "Medicate Me" which features Dayseeker vocalist Rory Rodriguez and has already racked up over 12 million streams on Spotify alone.

What was the biggest evolution in Rain City Drive's sound with your record "Things Are Different Now"

"It's probably the heaviest the band has been mixed with some of the "poppiest" top lines/production"

You mentioned that the band is always looking to push the boundaries, whats an influence outside of rock that might surprise fans?

"Billie Eilish"

With your headlining tour coming up, what is a memorable story/moment from a tour or show?

"Playing Pier 17 is a special memory - it's a rooftop venue on the waterfront of Manhattan... that view was wild."

What's Your Favorite Song from the upcoming album?

"Elusive Dream"
