Red Hot Chili Peppers Will Close Paris Olympics Today With Billie Eilish & Snoop Dogg in LA
Today, (August 11th) Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg, and rock group Red Hot Chili Peppers will be performing at the Paris Olympics handover ceremony in Los Angeles, where the 2028 Summer Olympics will be held. Emmy, Grammy, and Academy winning artist H.E.R will also be performing the National Anthem at the ceremony. The closing ceremony will start at 2PM ET with a recap, before the official ceremony starts at 3PM.
After Gojira’s performance at the opening ceremony broke the internet, it‘s exciting to see another rock/metal band performing at one of the biggest events in the world. Red Hot Chili Peppers are one of the most famous bands from Los Angeles, California so it’s no surprise to see them representing the city.
All artists will showcase a blend of live and pre-recorded performances at the ceremony. Reportedly, Tom Cruise will be performing a slew of motorcycle stunts before parachuting over the iconic Los Angeles Hollywood sign.
What Else Is Happening At The Olympics Closing Ceremony?
Thomas Jolly, the artistic director of the Olympics has stated that the closing ceremony will be called “Records”. The finale will be held at 80,000 capacity French Stadium, Stade de France and will feature more than 100 dancers, acrobats, circus performers and more.
Some of the show is reported to be in the air with vibrant lighting as the ceremony takes viewers on a journey through the origins, past, and supposed future of the Olympic games.
The Parade of Flags will feature all of the nation’s competitors marching behind their flag, followed by a medal ceremony, and a moment of remembrance before the closing ceremony is officially over.
