The Ritz Ybor became ground zero for one of the heaviest, most pulverizing metal lineups of the year. Tampa’s metal scene came out in full force to witness the madness that only The Black Dahlia Murder, Dying Fetus, Spite, Angelmaker, and Vomit Forth could deliver. This was a night dedicated to the brutal, the fast, and the unrelenting side of metal that leaves you battered, bruised and breathless.

The show kicked off with Vomit Forth, who brought a gritty, raw energy to set the tone. Their relentless death metal fury was the perfect appetizer, and their crushing breakdowns and vicious growls made it clear this night would pull no punches. Vomit Forth ripped through their set like a storm, and the crowd responded with pits that didn’t let up from the first note.

Angelmaker came up next, and they took things up a notch. Their dual-vocal assault and melodic deathcore sound have a way of ripping your soul right out of your chest. Angelmaker’s precision and intensity filled the room with a dark, malevolent energy, making you feel like you were trapped inside some kind of sonic horror film. Every track was a blend of groove and fury, pushing the crowd to the edge as the pits expanded.

Then came Spite, the kings of modern hate fueled aggression. Their blend of hardcore and deathcore hits like a sledgehammer, and this set was no different. Vocalist Darius Tehrani commanded the stage like a man possessed, feeding off the crowd’s rage and giving it back tenfold. Every track hit with a ferocity that could be felt deep in your bones. If there’s one thing Spite proved that night, it’s that they’re one of the most intense bands in the genre right now.

As Dying Fetus took the stage, the energy in the room shifted to a whole new level. These death metal legends didn’t waste a second—they dove straight into a blistering set filled with face-melting technicality and crushing brutality. The musicianship was on another level; each track was a reminder of why Dying Fetus remains a cornerstone of death metal. With each riff, you could feel the crowd being dragged deeper into the chaos. Mosh pits raged harder, sweat and adrenaline filled the air, and fans screamed every lyric back in unison.

Finally, it was time for The Black Dahlia Murder, and the anticipation was almost unbearable. This tour marked a new chapter for the band, and the crowd was ready to embrace it. From the moment they hit the stage, The Black Dahlia Murder delivered an incredible performance that was equal parts nostalgia and evolution. With Brian Eschbach now at the helm, bringing his own dynamic style to the vocals, the band delivered classic tracks with a renewed vigor that electrified the entire room. Fans went absolutely wild, chanting and headbanging in a frenzy as the band tore through favorites like “Statutory Ape” and “Funeral Thirst” and closed the set with “Deathmask Divine.”

The night ended with a sense of unity and awe at what had just transpired. This wasn’t just a concert; it was a ritual, a shared experience of heavy music fans who live and breathe this genre. Every fan left with ringing ears and sore necks, knowing they’d just been part of something brutal and unforgettable.
