Bio

Since their inception in early 2019, Vøidwomb has shown a strong commitment to delivering their extreme sound while creating a distinct identity. Originating from Viana do Castelo, Portugal, the 5-piece metal act showcases a brutally heavy sound that blends the sounds of death & black metal into a fresh and modern yet familiar and beloved sound.

In February 2021, the debut EP "Altars of Cosmic Devotion" was released via renowned German label, Iron Bonehead, sparking both national and international interest. The EP was also released in two cassette editions by a Portuguese label, Gruesome Records, and an American label, Sunshine Ward Recordings.

Crushing heaviness, dark atmospheres, and engaging melodies have been the band's trademarks since its beginning. Vøidwomb's music oscillates between black metal and death metal, sometimes diving into the nuances of a more doom-influenced style. Due to the pandemic, the band's first live performances were delayed until November of that year. The Portuguese act's debut concert took place in their hometown and since then the band has continued to grow, playing all over their home country, as well as in Spain, France, Luxembourg, and even Germany – where they represented Portugal at the Wacken Metal Battle 2024.

Latest Work:

On April 26, 2024, the band released the album "Spiritual Apotheosis," which was elected album of the month by the well-known national magazine Caminhos Metálicos, through the notorious Avantgarde Music. Vøidwomb is already working on new material which will display their hard work, growing ambition, and impressive musical talent.

One of Vøidwomb's main objectives is to perform regularly outside of Portugal and they look forward to traveling and meeting their international fanbase. Their first European tour, held in July 2024, was a great success. After their positive reception outside of Portugal, the band is working on crafting a more extensive tour in 2025.

In addition to expanding their presence in Europe, Voidwomb is also committed to establishing connections in South America. The release of a cassette edition (which will take place later in 2024) of their latest album by a Brazilian label is part of the band's strategy to reach new audiences and markets outside of Europe.
