Song Review | “Desecration" - Extendead
Spotify Cover - Extendead

German metal duo Extendead released their latest single "Desecration" on February 9th. The track starts with violent guitar chugs and pinch harmonics, forming face-melting instrumental riffage. Mixed screaming and singing vocals create a sense of variety alongside energetic drum work. With a dynamic and grungy chorus, Extendead uses dramatic guitar chords and powerful singing to create a powerful atmosphere.

With a progressive and djent-inspired sound, "Desecration" blends genres like metalcore, progressive metal, and 90's grunge, to create a unique sound that takes aspects from multiple genres. Extendead creates a guitar-driven sound with rapid riffage that mixes in a variety of techniques to create a technical and attractive style. A soaring guitar solo leads into a final chorus that brings the song to an end. At just under 4 minutes, "Desecration" has excellent replayability and will leave fans reaching for the repeat button.
