Song Review | “WALLS” - Inconvenience
Hardcore 4-piece hailing from the Italian West Coast, Inconvenience, released their latest single, “WALLS” on May 4th. The track starts off with growing distortion before launching into explosive down-tuned guitar chugging and layered dissonance. Inconvenience creates a unique style with vocals that have glitchy, electronic effect over them, forming a brutally heavy yet distinct vocal style. “WALLS” jumps into a metalcore chorus with a racing tempo, bright guitar, and soaring singing vocals. Inconvenience expertly balances contrast in their music, transitioning between anthemic choruses and crushingly heavy verses.
After “WALLS” second chorus, the band throws the listener into the midst of a brutal breakdown with screaming, intense instrumentals and booming bass drops. In a transition into the final chorus, Inconvenience adds retro dance-style synths that work alongside distant arpeggiated keys to create a complex soundscape in the chorus. Ending on a melodic note, Inconvenience displays an undeniably attractive blend of classic hardcore, metalcore, and electronic elements that fans of heavy metal genres will certainly enjoy!
