Song Review | "Hexxer" - Kamru
Kamru released their debut album, "Kosmic Attunement to the Malevolent Rites of the Universe" in April of 2022. The second track of the LP, "Hexxer" starts with a powerful riff that utilizes a dark and sludgy guitar tone to create a strong and evil atmosphere. Distorted singing vocals add melody to the track yet still match the ominous and doom-influenced sound that "Hexxer" is brimming with. Kamru blends occult themes with doom, stoner and sludge metal/rock genres.
Clocking in at 7 and a half minutes, "Hexxer" kicks into a technical guitar solo filled with fast runs before kicking back into a second chorus. Kamru does an excellent job of keeping a consistent mood throughout the track, with a dark and haunting mix between instrumentals and vocals. Fans of sludge, stoner rock, doom metal, and progressive genres will definitely enjoy "Hexxer"! You can stream Kamru's debut album out now!
