Song Review | "Knight of Swords" - Darwin

4-piece progressive rock band, Darwin, released their latest single "Knights of Swords" on September 1st. Darwin displays a unique sound that blends multiple genres between rock and metal (and even a few others) to create a distinct and interesting sound. "Knight of Swords" starts with some crunchy guitar riffage and djent-styled guitar and bass. High melodic riffs fill in the atmosphere as gentle female lead vocals are introduced. Bright instrumental tones in combination with singing vocals create a powerful combination of sound that makes the 5-minute track go by in a flash.

Darwin's instrumentals are an interesting mix of progressive rock/metal, djent, math rock, and even thrash at points. Overall the wide scope of influences comes through excellently throughout "Knight of Swords" to form a unique and exciting take on progressive rock and metal. Fans of progressive genres and bands like Jinjer will highly enjoy Darwin! You can stream their latest music now!
