South Texas metalcore act, Sentiments, released their single "Dreamcatcher" in September of 2023. The track starts off with bright guitar melodies and building drums before launching into dark guitar chugging and raw screams. Sentiments do an excellent job of creating melody behind screaming vocals in the chorus with dynamic guitar chord progressions and high instrumental leads. "Dreamcatcher" displays a 2000s metalcore sound that brings a nostalgic feel but maintains a unique sound with modern production.
Sentiments transition into clean guitar before exploding into a dramatic breakdown filled with intense chugging, dissonance, extreme vocals and impactful drums. "Dreamcatcher" fades out with the breakdown, ending on a crushingly heavy note. With no clean singing, Sentiments creates a brutal sound that is still catchy with bright and melodic instrumentals filling in a full scope of sound.
