Song Review | "State of Oscillation" - Midnight Drive
Midnight Drive released their debut song "State of Oscillation" on November 8th. The fresh metal band starts off the track with heavy-hitting guitar riffage and chanting that builds up anticipation before the whole band kicks in. Dissonant guitar, dynamic drumming and intense screams and growls create a powerful heavy metal sound. Midnight Drive mixes in clean vocals with strong singing hooks, blending melodic elements in with the song's ferocious sound to create a sense of contrast between the heavier and catchy parts of the track.
Coming in just under 5 minutes, "State of Oscillation" slows it down halfway through the song, cutting to just bass strumming before exploding into a fierce breakdown filled with rapid double bass drumming and guitar chugging. With a scream Midnight Drive launches into an explosive, down-tempo breakdown that closes out the song in an epic fashion.
