Forming out of Lubbock, Texas, Victis released their 2nd single "The Ballad Of Mourning" on March 8th. The track quickly establishes strong symphonic elements with powerful orchestral strings building a harmonious atmosphere as distant guitar leads slowly fade into the mix. In a dramatic and sudden shift of dynamics Victis bursts into rapid drumming and speeding guitar riffage that is lead by harsh screaming vocals. Victis uses bright guitar tones to add elements of melody behind thrashing drum grooves and extreme vocal techniques, creating an excellent array of contrast and variety throughout their music.
"The Ballad Of Mourning" ends with a brutal series of breakdowns that use booming bass drops, dissonant guitar strikes, deep growls, and explosive cymbal hits, to form a crushingly heavy metal style.
