Song Review | "The Chosen One" - The Word66

Rock/Metal band The Word66 just released their newest track, "The Chosen One" on May 12th. The band has a dynamic and bright sound with energetic drumming, distorted guitar chugs and riffs, and thumping bass. "The Chosen One" has a catchy chorus with soaring vocal melodies that are layered to create a choir-type effect.

The nearly 4-minute song creates a classic rock sound with nostalgic guitar tones and a feel-good sound. The Word66 mixes a classic rock/metal influence with their own modern distinct sound. Powerful instrumental riffs and anthemic choruses create a satisfyingly full atmosphere. A screeching, technically impressive solo follows the second chorus and adds a layer of diversity to the song structure.
