The vocals change to screams and growls adding another level of variation to the song. "The Departed" features rapid, heavy-hitting guitar riffs, blasting drums, and intense vocal styles. The 4-minute song features a fast tempo that makes transitions into the breakdown so much more dramatic in contrast.
